These are newer scanners, and due to the fact that OmniPage Pro 8 would not allow scanning from unsupported scanners, this updater is necessary for these scanners to scan directly into OmniPage Pro 8. To run the updater, save the file to your hard drive and unstuff the binhexed file (if not already done), double-click on the updater and click continue. Read the notice and agreement and continue if you agree with the statements. Click install and the updater will update your installed copy of OmniPage Pro 8.
Once OmniPage Pro 8 has been successfully updated, open it and go to the settings menu. From there click on ‘select scanner’. In this window locate your scanner (or the closest selection) and highlight your scanner. Click ‘verify’. You should be able to scan fine as long as you have the needed TWAIN driver installed on the system. If you need the new TWAIN driver, you will need to contact your scanner manufacturer.
After using this updater, our testing has shown that these scanners scan directly into OmniPage Pro 8, providing that you have the correct version of the TWAIN software. However, this does not mean these scanners are now officially supported. They were released after OmniPage Pro 8.0, and subsequently may still have problems working with the application.
